We understand that this can be a challenging experience and can push us outside of our comfort zone. We also know that this may be the first time you have ever taught a full class, so please know that all the evaluating teachers are compassionate and understanding of this. We have all shared that experience of teaching a yoga class for the very first time, we know those nerves, and we are not expecting it to be “perfect”.
The reason the Your Yoga Flow teacher training programs build to teach a practicum is so that we can see that the learning from the course has been implemented and that you would be able, if you choose, to teach a safe, inclusive, and accessible yoga class.
Teaching a full class, for your practicum, can give you confidence and experience, so that when you step into the real world of teaching you have the foundation and understanding of how to plan and deliver a full class that is well-rounded and includes all the necessary elements.
Also, because this is online learning, and we are asking you to submit an online practicum, it gives you the additional experience of how to teach from that platform. Including how to set up your space, your camera, your sound and your music, to be able to deliver a professional and clear offering. This might be the way you wish to teach your yoga in the future; so having the experience of that first practicum class will help iron out any kinks that can come with teaching online.
