For the final written exam, think about the elements that make up a yoga class such as pranayama, mudra, chakras, nadis and bandhas. These are some of the elements that will be included in the final exam.
The final exam is preparing you to teach a complete and comprehensive yoga class, so most of the questions relate to the layers involved in creating a well-rounded, safe and informative practice. For example, there may be questions on safe alignment and anatomical planes or on the drishti point and styles of yoga. There may also be questions relating to Yoga Ethics and the practice of Ayurveda.
The majority of the questions are not going to be on the individual asana, as that is incorporated in the grading of your practicum. The practicum is the part of the course where you teach a full class with cueing, alignment, variation and modification options with the use of props.
The written exam is multiple choice and is based on factual, concrete information that is not going to be open to interpretation. For example; which of the nadis has cooling properties? This is similar to the practice quizzes that you complete at the end of certain sections of the course. All this information is slowly building you towards your final written exam and helping you to recognize how much knowledge and information you are retaining.
Once you submit your final written exam, you will receive your results straight away and will have the option to retake if needed to meet the minimum pass requirement.
Take a deep breath and trust that you have absorbed all the information you need to successfully pass your written exam. Wishing you the best of luck!
